Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:
If this Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new PCM. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Release the upper retaining clips (1a) and move the engine coolant supply reservoir (1b).
- Press the lower retaining clips (2a) and move the reservoir (1b) outside of the working area.
- Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the nut (2a) and disconnect the ground lead (2b) from the PCM.
- Open the retaining clips (3) and move the battery wiring outside the working area.
- Remove the nuts (1a) and the PCM and shield (1b).
