Module, Power Inverter: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
- Remove the lower outer mounting bracket retainer and loosen the remaining fasteners (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (2).
- Rotate the PIM to gain access to the screws (1) that fasten the PIM bracket (2) to the PIM and remove the mounting bracket.
- Remove the PIM from the vehicle.
- Remove the power inverter from the remaining mounting bracket.
