Vehicle Speed Sensor Function

For analog dash only. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in this article for instrument cluster removal. Disconnect speedometer cable from instrument cluster. Connect ohmmeter between Green/Red wire and Black wire. Slowly rotate speedometer cable connections at instrument cluster. If there are 4 continuity interruptions per speedometer cable rotation, proceed to PINPOINT TEST A5 . If not, replace vehicle speed sensor (speedometer subassembly).
