Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

Barometric Pressure (BP) Sensor:

The Barometric Pressure (BP) sensor is a frequency generating device produces varying signals depending on the amount of barometric (atmospheric) pressure. The Engine Control Assembly (ECA) monitors the frequency emitted from the BP sensor. The ECA calculates input from the BP sensor to optimize the air/fuel ratio, idle speed, purge flow and A/C cutoff.
