EGR Valve Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Position Sensor (EVP):

The EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor mounted on the EGR valve assembly. The sensor is a variable resistor detecting EGR valve lift. The Electronic Control Assembly (ECA) utilizes this information to optimize EGR system operation through the control of the EGR vacuum/vent solenoid. Ignition timing and EGR flow are modified accordingly.
