Bench Testing: Rotor

Check continuity across rotor slip rings. If resistance is not between 3-4 ohms, replace rotor. Check continuity between individual slip rings and rotor shaft. If continuity exists, rotor or slip ring is grounded. Replace rotor. Check condition and color of slip rings. If dark or grooved, refinish in a lathe with fine sandpaper.
