Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

Heated Oxygen Sensors:

REMOVAL

NOTE: If excessive force is needed to remove Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S), lubricate with penetrating oil prior to removal.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301).

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.

3. Disconnect HO2Ss at wiring connector.

4. Remove HO2Ss from dual converter and pipe or exhaust manifolds (depending upon application) using Oxygen Sensor Wrench T94P-9472-A.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten HO2Ss to 37-45 Nm (27-33 ft lb).
