Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft Position Sensor:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
3. Remove retaining bolt and remove CMP sensor from engine.

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure mounting surface is clean and that the O-ring is in proper location on CMP sensor.

CAUTION: Do not overtighten retaining bolt or damage to CMP sensor or engine mounting surface may occur.

2. Position CMP sensor onto engine and install retaining bolt. Tighten retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
3. Connect fuel charging wiring to CMP sensor.
4. Connect battery ground cable.
