Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor:






REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from the Crankshaft Position sensor (CKP sensor).
4. Remove retaining bolts and remove crankshaft position sensor from the engine front cover.

INSTALLATION
1. Position crankshaft position sensor and install retaining bolts. Tighten to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb in).

CAUTION: Do not overtighten crankshaft position sensor retaining bolts or damage to crankshaft position sensor may occur.

2. Properly route fuel charging wiring and connect to crankshaft position sensor.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Connect battery ground cable.
