Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

Special Service Tool(s)

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.







2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.







3. Remove the heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) from the exhaust manifolds and exhaust pipe using the special tool.
^ If necessary, lubricate the heated oxygen sensors with Penetrating and Lock Lubricant E8AZ-19A501-B to assist in removal.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Compound F6AZ-9L49AA meeting Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads of the heated oxygen sensors.
