Generic Electronic Module: Notes

CAUTION: Disconnect battery before disconnecting Generic Electronic Module GEM harness connectors. Failure to do so will result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after repairs.

CAUTION: If replacing GEM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the New Generation STAR (NGS) tester. After installation, this information needs to be downloaded into the new GEM module. NGS tester will retain uploaded information for only 24 hours.
