Self-Diagnostic System

When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES

NOTE:
Before beginning any testing, perform TROUBLE SHOOTING . Test procedures are written specifically for Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) or New Generation Star (NGS) tester. OBD-II compliant generic scan tools may not have the capability of performing all the same functions. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
Connect Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) or New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below center of instrument panel, right of steering wheel. If NGS tester displays SYSTEM PASSED for DSM, retrieve and record continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Erase continuous DTCs. Perform DSM self-test. If DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DRIVER'S SEAT MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table.
