Removal & Installation

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Transceiver module is located on steering column, attached to ignition lock cylinder housing. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Push ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with punch while removing ignition switch lock cylinder. Go to next step.
  2. Unscrew and remove tilt wheel lever. Remove instrument panel steering column cover to access upper steering column shroud screws. Remove 3 screws and remove upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  3. Remove PATS transceiver module retaining screw. Disconnect PATS transceiver module connector C265. Locate rib on steering column lock cylinder housing, and gently pry transceiver module over rib to remove PATS transceiver module (apply pressure or leverage below key cylinder lower rib). To install, reverse removal procedure.
