Test D: Horizontal Movement Inoperative

  1. Disconnect horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311. Measure resistance between ground and Red/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311. If either resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If both resistance reading are 5 ohms or less, go to step  3 .
  2. Disconnect seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure resistance of Red/White wire between horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311 and terminal No. 3 at seat control switch harness connector C312. See Figure . Measure resistance of Yellow/White wire between horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311 and terminal No. 8 at seat control switch harness connector C312. If both resistance readings are 5 ohms or less, replace seat control switch. If either resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Disconnect seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure resistance between ground and Red/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311. If both resistance readings are greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Connect seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure voltage of Red/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311 while pressing seat control switch to rearward position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace seat control switch.
  5. Measure voltage of Yellow/White wire terminal at horizontal seat height motor harness connector C311 while pressing seat control switch to forward position. If battery voltage exists, replace seat track assembly. If battery voltage does not exist, replace seat control switch.
