Generic Electronic Module (Gem): Notes
WARNING:
Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage.
CAUTION:
Prior to removal of GEM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new module once installed.
NOTE:
When battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while vehicle relearns adaptive strategy. Vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to learn strategy.
