Cruise Control Systems: Description

Speed control system is electronically controlled. Major components of speed control system include speed control actuator cable, speed control servo/actuator, Rear Electronics Module (REM), speed control actuator switch, brake pressure switch, anti-lock brake control module and air bag sliding contact. This system does not require engine vacuum. An electronic servo actuates the throttle. Speed control system is operational only at speeds greater than 30 MPH. Speed control servo/actuator communicates with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and REM using Standard Corporate Protocol (SCP) bus link.
