Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt from the generator. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories..







3. Remove the generator electrical connections.







4. Remove the bolts and remove the generator.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ Be sure to reinstall the ground strap to the front generator bolt.
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
