  1. Turn ignition off. Test defogger relay. See DEFOGGER RELAY TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If relay is good, go to next step. If relay is faulty, replace defogger relay and retest system.
  2. Disconnect instrument panel fuse panel 16-pin Tan connector. Measure resistance between instrument panel fuse panel 16-pin Tan connector terminal No. 9 (Black/Red wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Red wire and retest system.
  3. Measure resistance between instrument panel fuse panel 16-pin Tan connector terminal No. 12 (White/Red wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace warning chime module and retest system.
  4. Disconnect rear window defogger switch harness connector. Measure resistance between rear window defogger switch harness connector terminals No. 1 and 3 (component side). See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, repair open in White/Red wire. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace rear window defogger switch and retest system. See INTEGRATED CONTROL PANEL (ICP)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
