Instrument Panel: Notes

CAUTION:
Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
- If removing the instrument panel, position the front seats rearward.
- Disable the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Disabling and Activating in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
- If removing the instrument panel, remove the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM PANELS .
- If removing the instrument panel, remove the LH and RH A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM PANELS .
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps:
Part Steps Instrument panel 1-33 Instrument panel steering column cover opening 1,2 Instrument panel steering column reinforcement 1-4 Utility compartment 5,6 - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Reactivate the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Disabling and Activating in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
