Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Piston: Disassembly

    NOTE: If the connecting rod bearings are to be reused, each one must be identified so that it can be installed in its original position.

  1. Remove the connecting rod bearings from the connecting rod (6200) and the rod cap.
  2. Remove the piston rings (6149) using a suitable piston ring expander.

  3. Mark the pistons (6108) to make sure assembly with the same connecting rod and installation in the same cylinder from which they were removed.
  4. Place (A) Sleeve in (B) Base and position (C) Alignment Pin into the center hole of Sleeve.

  5. Position the piston pin (6135) over the alignment pin.

  6. Place Driver into the bore of the piston pin and press the pin out of the connecting rod.
