Power Steering System Filling
- Fill the power steering reservoir to the full cold or remote reservoir center mark.
- Remove the fuel pump relay located in the battery junction box to disable the vehicle from starting.
- Crank the engine for 30 seconds, check fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
- Raise the front wheels off the floor.
- Crank the engine for 30 seconds while cycling the steering wheel from lock-to- lock.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir to the appropriate level.
- Install the fuel pump relay.
- Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). For additional information, refer to SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CNG, FLEX-FUEL & GASOLINE

- Run the vehicle and check the system for leaks.
- Carry out the power steering system purging procedure as outlined in this section.
WARNING:
Do not mix oil types. Any mixture or any unapproved oil could lead to seal deterioration and leaks. A leak could ultimately cause loss of fluid, which could result in a power steering assist.
NOTE:
Do not hold the steering wheel at the stops.
CAUTION:
Do not overfill the power steering fluid reservoir.
