Rear Axle Assembly: Notes

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist. For additional information, refer to GENERAL INFORMATION

- Remove the rear halfshafts. For additional information, refer to REAR AXLE HALFSHAFTS, BEARINGS AND SEALS .
- Disconnect the driveshaft from the rear axle flange. Support the driveshaft at the center and rear.
- Position a suitable hydraulic jack to the axle housing. Securely strap the jack to the housing.
- Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Fill the axle with the specified quantity of the specified lubricant.
