Removal And Installation

NOTE: The accessory delay system (courtesy lamps) will time-out after 10-minutes and disable power-fold seat operation (if equipped). To enable the system, open any vehicle door.

All seats 

  1. 1.

    Remove the LH and RH quarter trim panels. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .
    • Connect the third row power fold seat control switch, if equipped.

  1. 2.

    Position both seats to the load floor position.

Power seat with inoperable seat latch 

  1. 3.

    NOTE: RH seat shown, LH similar.

    Push the cushion cover and foam pad back and locate the power seat latch by-pass cut-out in the bracket.

  1. 4.

    Slide a screwdriver through the latch bracket until it bottoms out on the latch mechanism.
    • The screwdriver must be straight up and down and not on an angle or the screwdriver will not come in contact with the latch release lever.

  1. 5.

    Pivot the screwdriver handle toward the front of the seat, releasing the latch.

Power seat with inoperable stow motor 

  1. 6.

    NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

    Pry to release the clips and remove the backrest latch outer cover.

  1. 7.

    NOTE: Make sure the wire harness is not damaged while positioning the release lever or the power-fold seat will not operate correctly.
    NOTE: LH seat shown, RH similar.

    Position the pivot release lever down and pivot the seat away from the floor striker.

    • When installing, make sure the pivot lever is engaged.

All seats 

  1. 8.

    NOTE: If equipped with a power seat, do not lift the load floor flapper panels too far or damage to the wire harness retainers will occur.

    Separate the 2 load floor supports (1 shown).

    • Push the load floor support rearward and slightly lift the load floor to disengage.
      • For manual seat, fold the 2 load floor flapper panels back on top of the seat.

Power seat 

  1. 9.

    Detach the wire harness retainers.

    1. 1.

      Slightly raise the LH load floor flapper panel and detach the wire harness retainer attached to the load floor support studs.

    1. 2.

      Slightly raise the RH load floor flapper panel and detach the wire harness pin-type retainer from the load floor support.

  1. 10.

    Disconnect the main feed and LH power stow seat motor electrical connectors.

    Detach the 2 wire harness retainers on the RH side.

All seats 

  1. 12.

    NOTE: Note the location of the safety belt anchor for correct installation.

    Remove the LH and RH third row safety belt anchor bolts.

    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  1. 13.

    Remove the third row seat.

    1. 1.

      Remove the 2 RH bolts and the safety belt retractor.
      • To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

    1. 2.

      Remove the 2 LH nuts and the safety belt retractor.
      • To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

    1. 3.

      Remove the 2 studs on the LH side.
      • To install the studs, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) before installing the nuts.

    1. 4.

      With the aid of an assistant, remove the third row seat.
      • Lift the LH mounting bracket over the auxiliary climate control housing and move forward.
      • Lift the RH side of the seat and pull out through the rear hatch opening.

  1. 14.

    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Before installation, make sure the safety belt buckles are accessible to the occupants.

  1. 15.

    Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to the appropriate Functional Test procedure in the Diagnosis and Testing portion of Safety Belt System .
