Main Control Valve Body: Removal

  1. 1.

    Remove the main control cover. Refer to: Main Control Cover - 1.6L EcoBoost (110kW/150PS) - Sigma/1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - Sigma . Refer to: Main Control Cover - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS) .

  1. 2.

    Disconnect the TR sensor electrical connector.

    Disconnect the OSS electrical connector.

  1. 4.

    Remove the rubber grommet.

  1. 5.

    NOTE: Take extra care when handling the components.
    NOTE: Note the different lengths of the bolts.

    Remove the nut, the bolts and the main control.

  1. 6.

    Remove and discard the main control-to-transmission case separator plate.

  1. 7.

    Remove the bolts and separate the solenoid body assembly from the main control valve body.

  1. 8.

    Remove the 2 bolts and remove and discard the separator plate.
