Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

  1. 1.

    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
    NOTE: The PMI (programmable module installation) process must begin with the current PCM installed. If the current PCM does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the PCM following the on-screen instructions.

    Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .

  1. 3.

    Remove the bolt and the PCM housing cover.

    Torque: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)

    Disconnect the PCM electrical connector.

    Remove the bolt and the PCM.

    Torque: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)
