Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) Sensor

The Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor measures the temperature of engine oil circulating through the oil gallery. Although the location of the sensor varies, usually it is located nearby the oil pump, mounted on the engine, along with the engine oil pressure sensor. The EOT sensor is checked for any circuit faults by monitoring the input voltage and checked for rationality by comparing the measure EOT value against an inferred EOT value. If any fault is detected during two contiguous trips, then the fault will be indicated.
