Hood Alignment

  1. Unsnap the inboard portion of the LH and RH cowl panel grille side from the upper cowl panel grille to expose the LH and RH rear lower hood hinge-to-body bolt. For additional information, refer to Cowl Panel Grille  in this section.
  2. Loosen the LH and RH rear lower hinge-to-body bolt to the point that the hood will have slight movement.
  3. Open the hood.
  4. Loosen the LH and RH front lower hinge-to-body bolt to the point that the hood will have slight movement.
  5. Adjust the hood to align the hood to fender fit. For additional information, refer to Section 501-35.
  6. Carefully close the hood, maintaining the hood-to-fender fit and tighten the LH and RH rear lower hinge bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  7. Carefully open the hood and tighten the LH and RH front lower hinge bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  8. Reinstall the side cowl panel grille to the upper cowl panel grille.
  9. NOTE: The hood adjusting bumpers are located in the hood panel.

    Adjust the hood bumper so the hood panel fits flush to the fenders.
