Selector Lever Cable: Removal
- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Position the selector lever in D.
- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to: Driveshaft .

NOTE: Do not pull or pry on the selector lever cable or the selector lever cable end may be damaged. Use a screwdriver and turn the screwdriver as shown to pry the cable end off the post as close to the post as possible.
Using a screwdriver, pry the selector lever cable end from the selector lever and remove the selector lever cable retainer bolt.
Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Disconnect the selector lever cable from the selector lever assembly.
- Remove the heat shield.
- Disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual lever and remove the selector lever cable bolt.
- Disconnect the selector lever cable retainer from the transmission.
- Position a jack stand and a wood block under the transmission support crossmember, remove the bolts and lower the transmission. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle StandsUse the General Equipment: Wooden Block
- Disconnect the selector cable retainer and remove the selector lever cable.
