Event Notification Signal

The impact event notification signal output is a pulse waveform for the PCM to notify it in the event of a crash. The event notification signals received from the RCM are used to detect a fuel cutoff event. In normal operation, the RCM sends out a 5Hz 25% duty cycle on the event notification circuit. When an impact occurs which exceeds a pre-determined threshold, the RCM sends out a 50Hz 50% duty cycle to the PCM to signal fuel cutoff. The BCM uses this signal input for information only.
