Trailer Brake Control Switch: Removal

Vehicles equipped with a floor console 

  1. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .

    All vehicles 

  2. NOTE: 12 inch screen shown in illustration, 10 inch screen is similar.

    Release the clips and remove the upper centerstack bezel.

  3. Release the clips and remove the RH instrument center trim panel.

    • On vehicles equipped with push button start disconnect the electrical connector.

    Vehicles without a floor console 

  4. Remove the bolt.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  5. Release the clips and remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.

  6. Release the clips and remove the LH lower center trim panel.

  7. Release the clips and remove the RH lower center trim panel.

  8. Remove the lower center trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles equipped with a floor console 

  9. Remove the lower center trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    All vehicles 

  10. Press the 4 tabs and remove the trailer brake control switch.
    • Press the 4 tabs.

    • Remove the trailer brake control switch.
