Powertrain/Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing
Adjustment
NOTE:
Refer to the appropriate article and procedure for special instructions on loosening and tightening mount fasteners.
All vehicles

3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS)
- Remove the engine crossmember. Refer to: Engine Crossmember .
- Loosen, but do not remove the LH engine mount bolts.
- Loosen, but do not remove the RH engine mount bolts.
Electric Motor (EL)
- Loosen, but do not remove the rear electric drive assembly fasteners.
- Loosen, but do not remove the rear electric drive assembly fasteners.
All vehicles

NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.
Start the vehicle and move it forward 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

Move the vehicle in reverse the same distance 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).
3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (235kW/320PS)
- Inspect the LH engine mount that it is not twisted or preloaded.
- Inspect the RH engine mount that it is not twisted or preloaded.
- Tighten the LH engine mount bolts.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Tighten the RH engine mount bolts.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Install the engine crossmember. Refer to: Engine Crossmember

Electric Motor (EL)
- Inspect the rear electric drive assembly fasteners for bolt interference and verify the mounts are not twisted or preloaded.
- Inspect the rear electric drive assembly fasteners for bolt interference and verify the mounts are not twisted or preloaded.
- Tighten the rear electric drive assembly fasteners.
Torque: 184 lb.ft (250 Nm)
- Tighten the rear electric drive assembly fasteners.
Torque: 184 lb.ft (250 Nm)
All vehicles
- Test the system for normal operation.
