Stability Assist/Traction Control Switch: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles 

  1. NOTE: 12 inch screen shown, 10 inch screen is similar.

    Release the clips and remove the upper centerstack bezel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  2. Release the clips and remove the RH instrument center trim panel.

    • On vehicles equipped with push button start disconnect the electrical connector. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  3. Release the clips and remove the LH instrument center trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  4. Release the clips and remove the lower steering column closeout panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  5. Fully extend and lower the steering column.

  6. Release the tabs and disconnect the gap hider from the upper steering column shroud. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  7. Remove the screws.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  8. Release the clips and remove the instrument cluster panel bezel.

    Vehicles equipped with a floor console 

  9. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .
  10. Remove the lower centerstack trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles without a floor console 

  11. Remove the pin-type retainers and the RH lower instrument panel closeout trim panel.

  12. Remove the bolt.

    Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

  13. Release the clips and remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.

  14. Release the clips and remove the LH lower centerstack trim panel.

  15. Release the clips and remove the RH lower centerstack trim panel.

  16. Remove the lower centerstack trim panel.

    • Remove the bolts.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Release the clips.

    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles equipped with an instrument panel center speaker 

  17. Remove the instrument panel center speaker. Refer to: Instrument Panel Center Speaker - Vehicles With: 8 Inch Center Display Screen/12 Inch Center Display Screen .
  18. Remove the screws, release the clips and remove the instrument panel center speaker mounting plate.

    Vehicles not equipped with an instrument panel center speaker 

  19. Remove the upper instrument panel tray liner.

  20. Remove the screws, release the clips and remove the upper instrument panel tray.

    Vehicles equipped with a 10 inch display 

  21. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  22. Remove the bolts.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  23. Remove the bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the centerstack trim panel.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  24. Remove the bolts, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the FDIM.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

    Vehicles equipped with a 12 inch display 

  25. Remove the bolts.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

  26. Remove the bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the FDIM and centerstack trim panel as an assembly.

    Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)

    All vehicles 

  27. Press the 2 tabs and remove the stability assist/traction control switch.
