Pinpoint Test BQ: Abs (Anti-Lock Brake System) Module Communication Concern With The IPMA (Image Processing Module A)

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The IPMA is part of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
With the ignition ON, the IPMA sends messages to the ABS module the over the HS-CAN2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the module sets Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This can be due to an IPMA failure, a circuit failure on the network or an excessive load on the network.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

| ABS U053B:82 | Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated | sets in the ABS module when the counter signal value in the adaptive cruise control data message from the IPMA does not increase. |
| ABS U053B:83 | Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Value Of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect | sets in the ABS module when an invalid checksum value is received in the adaptive cruise control data message from the IPMA. |
| ABS U053B:86 | Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Signal Invalid | sets in the ABS module when the brake precharge request is received from the IPMA with an invalid or incorrect signal value. |
