Power Window Regulator: Installation

  1. Lubricate the motor drive gear and regulator sector teeth.
  2. Install regulator motor to regulator. The motor pinion gear teeth must mesh properly with the sector gear teeth before installing the motor to regulator screws.
  3. Install regulator motor to regulator screws. Remove the sheet metal screw from the back plate and sector gear.
  4. Install window regulator to the door with bolts (244). See Figure . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Collapse the regulator, and insert it through the access hole in the door. Unfold the regulator, and engage the forward roller to the sash channel notch. Slide the regulator rearward to engage the rear roller to the sash channel. Also engage the lower roller to the regulator rail. Slide the regulator into its proper position.
  5. Install wiring harness to the regulator.
  6. Install regulator to door panel bolts (244) and nuts (245). See Figure .
  7. Install remote control to door trim panel bolts.
  8. Install trim panel. See TRIM PANEL  . Lower the window completely.
  9. Install negative battery cable. Remove the tape from the window.
