Test A: Keyless Entry Does Not Operate

  1. If the right hand door lock operates from either of the of the vehicle's power door lock switches, go to next step. If the right hand door lock does not operate from either of the vehicle's power door lock switches, go to POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
  2. If the rear window operates from the vehicle's rear window release switch, go to the next step. If the rear window does not operate from the vehicle's rear window release switch, go to WINDOW/LIFTGATE RELEASE - REAR article.
  3. If the left hand power door lock operates from either of the vehicle's power door lock switches, go to step  8 . If the left hand power door lock does not operate from either of the vehicle's power door lock switches, go to the next step.
  4. Connect jumper wire between keyless entry module connector C1, terminal "D" to ground. If the left hand power door now locks from either power door lock switch, go to the next step. If the left hand power door does not lock from either power door lock switch, go to step  6 .
  5. Connect the ohmmeter between BLK (150) wire at the keyless entry module connector C1 and ground. If the ground is okay, replace keyless entry module and reprogram replacement module. See CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION and PROGRAMMING  . If the ground is not okay, repair open in BLK (150) wire.
  6. Measure the voltage at terminal "A" GRY (295) wire of the left hand front door motor with either power door switch held in lock. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in GRY (295) wire.
  7. Measure voltage between terminal "B" TAN wire (294) and Terminal "A" GRY wire (295) at left hand front door lock motor with either power door lock switch held in lock. If battery voltage is present, replace the left hand door lock motor. See POWER DOOR LOCKS . If there is no battery voltage present, repair open in TAN wire (294 or 694) from motor connector to keyless entry module connector.
  8. If luggage compartment release function is functioning, go to the next step. If luggage compartment release function is not operating, go to TEST C: ONLY REAR WINDOW RELEASE FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE (1 OF 2)  or TEST D: ONLY REAR WINDOW RELEASE FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE (2 OF 2)  .
  9. If the transmitter functions operate, go to the next step. If the transmitter functions do not operate, go to TEST E: TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONS DO NOT OPERATE  .
  10. Obtain known good transmitter. Connect a jumper wire between program connector. Operate transmitter by pressing a single button once. Disconnect the jumper wire from program connector. If the transmitter operates all remote keyless functions, go to step  12 . If the transmitter does not operate all functions, repair open in WHT (194) wire and reprogram keyless entry module. See PROGRAMMING  .
  11. Measure voltage at terminal "E" WHT wire (194) at keyless entry module connector C2 while pressing either of the power door lock switches in UNLOCK position. If there is battery voltage, go to the next step. If there is no battery voltage present, repair open in WHT (194) wire and reprogram keyless entry module. See PROGRAMMING  .
  12. Measure voltage at terminal "D" LT BLU wire (195) at keyless entry module connector C2 while pressing either of the power door lock switches in the LOCK position. If there is battery voltage present, replace keyless entry module and reprogram replacement keyless entry module to portable transmitter. If there is no battery voltage present, repair open in LT BLU (195) wire and reprogram keyless entry module. See PROGRAMMING  .
