Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to xDISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Restraints.
  2. Remove the trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT - ON VEHICLE in Steering Wheel and Column.
  3. Remove the theft deterrent module wiring harness from the steering column harness.
  4. Fig 1: Identifying Theft Deterrent Module

  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Pull the theft deterrent module (2) away from the lock cylinder housing (1).
