Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Lubricate the new lower injector O-ring seals (4) with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the new O-ring seals (4) on the spray tip end of each injector (3).

  4. Install the fuel rail assembly.
  5. NOTE: Refer to the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the fuel rail attaching bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes (1, 2) to the fuel rail. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  9. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

  11. Connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.
  12. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  14. Inspect for leaks.
    1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
