Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove any dirt, grease, etc. from the mounting surface.
- Install the SDM horizontally to the vehicle.
- Point the arrow on the SDM towards the front of the vehicle.
- Install the nuts that retain the SDM to the floor panel.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors (2) to the SDM (1).
- Return the carpet to the fully installed position.
- Install the console mounting bracket to the floor panel. Refer to Bracket Replacement - Console Floor in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 .

IMPORTANT:
The AIR BAG indicator may remain ON after the SDM has been replaced. DTC B1001 may set requiring the SDM part number to be set in multiple modules. If the indicator remains ON after enabling the SIR system, perform the diagnostic system check and follow the steps thoroughly to ensure that the SDM is set up properly.
