Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the cooling fan motor harness connectors X2 and X3 from the cooling fan control module.
  2. NOTE: The following test must be performed on both cooling fans.
  3. Connect a 30 A fused jumper between B+ and the cooling fan motor control circuit terminal 1. Connect a jumper wire between the cooling fan motor ground circuit terminal 2 and ground. Verify the cooling fan is activated at a high speed.
    • If either fan does not operate, replace the appropriate cooling fan motor.
  4. If both of the cooling fans test normal, test or replace the cooling fan control module.
