Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 .
Place the front wheels in the straight ahead position.

Remove the bolts from the steering wheel module (1).

Release the connector position assurances (3) from the inflator module.
Disconnect the steering wheel module connectors (2).
Remove the steering wheel module (1).
Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
