Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
To help avoid personal injury, be careful when working in the vicinity of the generator battery disconnect control module. Internal components will still be live, 36V potential, even when the cover has been opened or removed.

- Remove the generator battery disconnect control module cover.
- Measure and record the voltage at ring terminal 3 to ground.
- Depress and hold the service disconnect switch and measure the voltage at ring terminal 1 to ground. The voltage should read the same as in step 2.
- If no voltage was measured at ring terminal 1 with service disconnect switch depressed, replace BECM.
- Measure the resistance between C2 terminal 1 and ring terminal 1. Should measure 700 - 800 ohms.
- If not within specified range, replace the harness assembly.
- If all circuits tests normal, replace BECM.
