Removal Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Warning .
WARNING: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .
CAUTION: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Caution .

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH-48027)  or Fuel Pressure Relief (CH 48027) .
  2. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting (1) from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. If equipped with an automatic transmission perform the following steps, disengage the EVAP/fuel pipe clips (1) from the oil indicator tube bracket and the engine wiring harness bracket.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Disengage the EVAP/fuel pipe clip (2) from the fuel pipe bracket.
  7. Disengage the EVAP/fuel pipe clip (3) from the transmission range selector lever bracket.

  8. If equipped with a manual transmission perform the following steps, disengage the EVAP/fuel pipe clips (1) from the oil indicator tube bracket and the engine wiring harness bracket.
  9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  10. Disengage the EVAP/fuel pipe clips (1 and 2) from the fuel pipe brackets.

  11. Disconnect the chassis fuel feed (2) and EVAP (1) line quick connect fittings from the engine lines. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  12. Remove the EVAP/fuel engine line assembly from the vehicle.

  13. Open the fuel feed and EVAP line clips (1).
  14. Remove the fuel feed line (2) from the clips.
