Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Terrain and 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K77 remote control door lock receiver.
  2. Ignition OFF, doors closed, key out of the ignition switch, scan tool disconnected. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 50 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K77 remote control door lock receiver.
  3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
  4. Ignition ON, test for less than 3 to above 5 V between the serial data circuit terminal 3 and ground after inserting key in ignition cylinder.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
    • If less than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
  5. Disconnect the X1 and X2 harness connectors at the K9 BCM.
  6. Test for less than 1 V between the serial data circuit terminal 27 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to voltage.
  7. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the serial data circuit terminal 27 and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the serial data circuit for a short to ground.
  8. Test for less than 2 Ω between the K9 BCM terminal 27 X2 and K77 remote control door lock receiver terminal 2.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for an open/high resistance.
  9. If all circuits test normal, replace the K77 remote control door lock receiver. Check if the B3101 is no longer set as current.
  10. After K77 remote control door lock receiver replacement, if B3101 is still current, replace the K9 BCM.
