Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Remove the transfer case skid shield, if equipped. Transfer Case Skid Shield Replacement
  4. Clean the area surrounding the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly of any accumulated dirt and debris.
  5. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.

  7. Remove the EBCM bolts (1).

    NOTE:

    Do not attempt to pry or lever against the EBCM.

  9. Carefully separate the EBCM (1) from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) by pulling straight away from the BPMV.
