The side blind zone alert system uses two modules: The side object sensor module - left and the side object sensor module - right. The side object sensor module - left is the master and communicates with other control modules in the vehicle via the vehicle-wide serial data bus. The side object sensor module - left communicates with the side object sensor module - right on a private serial data bus. Internal fault detection is performed within the side object sensor module - left. No external circuit diagnosis is involved.
