Calibration Procedure

NOTE:

To complete the battery sensor module calibration, there must be no significant parasitic electrical drain on the battery. If the parasitic electrical drain does not remain below 100 mA during vehicle rest, the calibration will not be completed successfully. Refer to Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test  to correct any parasitic electrical drains.

NOTE:

If not diagnosing a Stop/Start concern and the negative battery cable was disconnected and reconnected, this procedure is not required. Inform the customer that the Stop/Start feature will not be available until the vehicle is allowed to sit for at least 3 hours undisturbed.

  1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
  2. Let the vehicle rest for a minimum of 3 hours without any interruptions (e.g. opening vehicle door, operating vehicle components, using fob buttons etc.).
  3. Engine CRANK.
  4. Verify the scan tool parameter - Battery Sensor Module Battery State Information parameter reads Available.
    • If not the specified value
    • Go to next step: If the Specified Value
