Replace and Program Control Module (ECU)

To program a replacement K71 Transmission Control Module, perform the following procedure:

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
    3. NOTE:

    Begin with the vehicle in vehicle OFF power mode. The Service Programming System will power mode the vehicle.

  3. Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. On the SPS Supported Controllers screen select K71 Transmission Control Module - Replace and Program ECU, and follow the on screen instructions.
  5. Perform the Refresh Characterization Data at the MCVM Characterization procedure. Refer to Q77 Transmission Control Solenoid Valve Characterization Programming (8L45) 
  6. Perform the scan tool configuration/reset function: Transmission Service Fast Learn - If available
