Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Ensure the fuel rail threads are clean and free of any excess fuel, or the fuel pressure and temperature sensor will NOT seal properly.

    Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the fuel pressure and temperature sensor (1) with one drop of clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. NOTE:

    Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.

  3. Install the fuel pressure and temperature sensor (1) and hand tighten.
  4. Remove the fuel pressure and temperature sensor (1) from the fuel injection fuel rail and re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  5. NOTE:

    If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel rail, the fuel rail will need to be replaced.

  6. Fuel Pressure and Temperature Sensor (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  7. Connect the electrical connector.

    Generator (1) - Install

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

    Generator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  10. Heater Inlet Hose Clip Bracket Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Battery Negative Cable (3) - Install

  12. Battery Positive Cable Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  13. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
  14. Install underbody panels as necessary. Underbody Panel Component Locator

    CAUTION:

    Verify the charge air cooler inlet and outlet air tube quick connect seal condition and location prior to installation. Seal must be evenly seated in the quick connector body and sealing surface must be free of deformation and damage. Deformed or damaged seals can lead to reduced engine power and/or engine stalling.

    NOTE:

    DO NOT insert fingers inside quick connect to manipulate duct during disassembly/assembly. Rubber pad gloves increase risk to dislodge seal.

    Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose (2) - Install

  16. Engage the charge air cooler outlet air hose retainer spring (1).

    Position the drive belt (2) onto all but one of the idler pulleys.

  18. Use a suitable tool to rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise, then hold tension.
  19. Install the drive belt (2) onto the last idler pulley. Check to ensure that the drive belt is centered on each pulley, and fully seated into ribbed pulleys.
  20. Slowly release tension from the drive belt tensioner (1).
  21. Inspect the drive belt (2) again to ensure centered on each pulley.

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

  24. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  25. Connect the electrical connector.

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

  27. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  28. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    {If equipped} Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

    If equipped, push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (2).

  31. {If equipped} Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  32. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  33. Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
