Neutral Service Mode

The following procedure allows the vehicle to remain in Neutral:

NOTE:

In cases of an ETRS system fault or a no start condition, refer to:Critical Fault Mode Maneuvering 

Vehicle in Service Mode - Shifting to Neutral

  1. Place vehicle in Service Mode by leaving the driver door open, press the gas pedal 3 times (hold the gas pedal down on the 3rd press).
  2. Remove the key and place it away from vehicle.
  3. Apply the brake pedal.
  4. Shift to Neutral.
  5. Release the brake pedal.
  6. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat steps 2 - 5.
  7. Vehicle is now in Neutral Service Mode.
    NOTE:

    The vehicle may automatically shift to Park upon re-entry.

Vehicle On/Propulsion Inactive - Driver in Vehicle

  1. Vehicle On/Propulsion Active.
  2. Apply the brake pedal.
  3. Shift the vehicle to Drive.
  4. Shift to Neutral.
  5. Vehicle Off and release the brake pedal.
  6. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat steps 2 - 5.
  7. Vehicle is now in Neutral Service Mode.

Vehicle On/Propulsion Inactive - Driver out of Vehicle

  1. Vehicle On/Propulsion Active.
  2. Apply the brake pedal.
  3. Shift the vehicle to Drive.
  4. Open the door.
  5. Shift to Neutral.
  6. Vehicle Off and release the brake pedal.
  7. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat steps 2 - 6.
  8. Exit the vehicle and close the door. Vehicle is now in Neutral Service Mode.
    NOTE:

    The vehicle may automatically shift to Park upon re-entry.

Vehicle On/Propulsion Active - Driver in Vehicle

  1. Vehicle On/Propulsion Active.
  2. Apply the brake pedal.
  3. Shift the vehicle to Drive.
  4. Shift to Neutral.
  5. Release the brake pedal.
  6. Vehicle is now in Neutral Service Mode.

Vehicle On/Propulsion Active - Driver out of Vehicle

  1. Vehicle On/Propulsion Active.
  2. Apply the brake pedal.
  3. Shift the vehicle to Drive.
  4. Open the door.
  5. Shift to Neutral.
  6. Release the brake pedal.
  7. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat steps 2 - 6.
  8. Exit the vehicle and close the door.
  9. Vehicle is now in Neutral Service Mode.
    NOTE:

    The vehicle may automatically shift to Park upon re-entry.
