Repair Procedures: Replacement

[LHD] 

1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.
   NOTE: Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
3. Remove the under cover (A), (B).
4. Remove the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle.
   1. Remove the split pin.
   2. Remove the castle nut.
   3. Disconnect the ball joint (A) from knuckle (B) using the special tool (09568-2J100).

      Tightening torque: 

      88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

5. Unscrew the steering column bolt (A) to disconnect the universal joint and steering gear connection.

   Tightening torque: 

   32.4 ~ 37.3N.m (3.3 ~ 3.8 kgf.m, 23.9 ~ 27.5lb-ft)

   NOTE: Do not reuse the universal joint bolt, Be sure to install a new one.
6. Disconnect the connector (A) and then loosen the gear box mounting bolts.

   Tightening torque: 

   88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

   [4WD] 

   [2WD] 

[RHD] 

1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

3. Remove the under cover (A), (B).

      Tightening torque:

5. Unscrew the steering column bolt (A) to disconnect the universal joint and steering gear connection.

   Tightening torque:
